Mixing electronic polish with guitar-driven hooks à la Phoenix and the Postal Service, Bangor and Donaghadee, Northern Ireland’s Two Door Cinema Club feature singer/guitarist/programmer Alex Trimble, guitarist/singer Sam Halliday, and bassist/singer Kevin Baird. Beacon is their second album, following 2010′s hype-creator & charts-climber Tourist History. Again these guys charm us with an undeniably catchyness (the kind that subconsciously takes over your mind): the melodies are clear and sharp, the rhythms effortlessly danceable, every little falsetto croon rings as nothing but charming. Two Door Cinema Club‘s sweet and innocent modern pop is as lovable as a couple of kittens: soft and cuddly but there’s life in those little eyes, curious life.
