Brand new EP from Reggio Emilia-based post-rockers Portfolio, featuring two unreleased tracks plus Beth Gibbons e Kim Novak, taken from their debut The Standing Babas, but here nicely re-worked. The first remixed by Silent Panda | Deadly Panda (a.k.a. Luca G from Julie’s Haircut), who plays guitars also on James Horses Chariot and Sion. The second one shows a wonderful different skin with less electronics and the introduction of a string quartet. An appreciated appetizer while waiting for their second full-length, sweetly enhanced by Laura Loriga‘s (Mimes of Wine, Giardini di Mirò) voice.

Reggio Emilia (Italy) based band Portfolio was born in 2003, as an electro acoustic 3- pieces band, featuring the founding members Marco Bigazzi (laptop, sound machine and bass guitar), Emilio Marconi (electric guitar) and Tiziano Bianchi (trumpet). Marco Rossi (Ustmamò) joined the band in 2007 and several singers collaborated during the years. The actual band members are: Tiziano Bianchi (trumpet, keyboards), Emilio Marconi (guitar), Marco Bigazzi (bass, samples, piano), Bojan Fazlagic (guitar, keyboards), Marco Rossi (bass, guitar), Stefano BIzzarri (drums). The Standing Babas, Portfolio’s first full length, is a sweet surprise: eclectic and enjoyable, somewhere in between Devics, Tindersticks and Playdoh. You will get lost into its flow.
