Techno-minimal Swedish producers duo (Sebastian Mullaert and Marcus Henriksson) Minilogue are set to release their brand new studio album Blomma, but in the meantime they’ve decided to be generous. So, until then, we can enjoy this fresh live-improvisation played in Länghult a few months ago. You can download it here, or stream it down below. As they says: When You Feel It, You Own It.

Did you like Atoms For Peace‘s Amok? Did you dance to Thom Yorke‘s Dazed Mix? Did you miss his brief DJ tour with Nigel Godrich in support of the brand new full-length debut? If the answer all of this questions is YES (or whatever, well, anyway), don’t worry. Here we are with a ready-made nearly two-hour set, including previously unreleased material from Radiohead and Yorke himself, as well as such s/t-approved artists as Aphex Twin, Luke Abbott, Shed, Oneohtrix Point Never, Diplo and Steve Reich. Always on the run.

It’s been a while for Ellen Allien hasn’t it? Well, no more waiting: here’s the Berlin-based DJ/producer’s latest work, of course on BPitch Control, the label she founded way back in 1999. The follow-up to 2010’s Dust, LISm takes a different approach than her other work. Rather than a collection consisting of a dozen or so individual songs, the record is 45-minutes track meant to evoke the tone of one of her DJ sets utilizing various styles and sounds to create a complete, comprehensive work.

Thom Yorke’s Dazed Mix

Thom Yorke has confirmed details of Atoms For Peace‘s debut album Amok, which is set for release on February 25th. Atoms For Peace are the Radiohead frontman’s side project with Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers, super-producer Nigel Godrich and percussionist Mauro Refosco. We’ve already heard ’round the web the first two singles Default and Judge Jury and Executuioner, plus the stunning b-side What the Eyeballs Did. To celebrate such a colossal issue (and maybe to make the hype around it even bigger), Yorke has set up a mix of some of his favourite tunes, unreleased solo material and remixes.
Suffice to say, it’s essential listening.

Insubordinate and averse to anything going on in the EDM world the dutch derelict of techno is back with a luminous new album. Steamy and mysterious as ever The Paranormal Soul is advancing the trademark Legowelt sound into new directions. Mangling up the historical foundations of New York, Detroit, Chicago and early U.K Rave, mixing it with seedy witchcraft rituals and deep space psychedelics for a boundless journey into techno mysticism. Listen to the exclusive album teaser mix here below.

Like smashing glasses on the floor and then counting pieces to re-build them into something different. With an ease that leaves you dumbstruck. Photek takes what you once called drum’n'bass and turns it into a strange, beautiful animal. This is no more dnb, this is no more dubsteb, this is no more experimental-ambient: this is all of these. KU:palm is a sneaky kind of electronic that creeps underneath your skin leaving an aftertaste of sampled warm shivers. The proof of the pudding is in the eating. So eat it: a mouth-watering preview down below with Photek‘s Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1.

French producer-turned-artist Vitalic returns with a fresh assault on the dance world this week, with his smartest collection to date. Rave Age seems to have a number of links and similarities to Vitalic’s previous releases but is considerably less constructed and unique in contrast. However, this doesn’t detract from the artist’s strategic and astute control he has over delivering sounds. The album continues throughout with that European untreated and unrefined techno that stands out against many artists in his category, producing a merge of genres, which include indie, punk and disco, all layered on progressive techno floor fillers. Here below an exlusive minimix for RS readers.

Late Night Tales: Metronomy

You often hear about certain songs, records and music being the perfect soundtrack for the night. It’s kind of hard to define the characteristics that make such music. Is it their certain appearance in the twilight? A darkened undertone with a huge faible for melancholia and introspective songwriting? Or is it just music that sounds a bit weirder and more odd than others? It’s probably something from everything and there are probably no better compilation series than the famous Late Night Tales who managed to combine all those factors within one selection of songs. Since its first issue back in 2001 a lot of famous artists contributed their song mixture to the series: a wide spectrum from Four Tet to Air and MGMT have already taken part in the challenge of creating the perfect soundtrack for the night. Now british indietronic pop group Metronomy are the next in line, and their just released compilation is nothing else than pure listening pleasure.

Well, you know music industry’s insecure and completely afraid of music diffusion through the internet. They call it piracy and they’re not smart enough to turn it to its benefit. But it’s a long-time matter, an almost unsolvable issue. Anyway, one of the most influential electronic-music blog has got the bulk of it: LastGrooves has been removed just a few weeks ago. But our partner in crime Sick Mix is not the kind of buddy used to give up: when a place collapse, what’s better than building another one up as soon as possible? So please welcome on the net the brand new tumblr version of LastGrooves! And to celebrate such an event what’s better than a brand new mix? So listen and enjoy LG4RS, a stunning collection of electronic tracks selected by Sick Mix and mixed by Spineless Laugh. Pulsing beats and mid-time bpm.
