Techno-minimal Swedish producers duo (Sebastian Mullaert and Marcus Henriksson) Minilogue are set to release their brand new studio album Blomma, but in the meantime they’ve decided to be generous. So, until then, we can enjoy this fresh live-improvisation played in Länghult a few months ago. You can download it here, or stream it down below. As they says: When You Feel It, You Own It.

You know: the time is coming. So Depeche Mode help us raising the tension and stopped by Late Show with David Letterman last night, joining the show’s Live On Letterman webcast series. They played an epic 46-minute set, which captured the trio enveloped in their own eerie, yet fascinating element. A wonderful preview of their forthcoming album, Delta Machine.

Thom Yorke has confirmed details of Atoms For Peace‘s debut album Amok, which is set for release on February 25th. Atoms For Peace are the Radiohead frontman’s side project with Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers, super-producer Nigel Godrich and percussionist Mauro Refosco. We’ve already heard ’round the web the first two singles Default and Judge Jury and Executuioner, plus the stunning b-side What the Eyeballs Did. To celebrate such a colossal issue (and maybe to make the hype around it even bigger), Yorke has set up a mix of some of his favourite tunes, unreleased solo material and remixes.
Suffice to say, it’s essential listening.

Do you remember Athens-based pacificUV? They’re working on their brand new album and, in perfect pacificUV-style, they want to make our mouth water with a pre-release double EP. This brand new version of the Chrysalis EP joins together the latest 2011′s one (featuring also a rad Smiths’ cover) and the old 2006′s EP (featuring a rare Eluvium’s cover). As said above, the resulting collection of 10 tracks (that you can stream down-below) is a precursor to their fourth full length album which comes out the Spring of 2013.

Do you remember Nicole Brenny and her solo-project Vague-à-Bonde? Her first album Involution/Evolution was recorded while Nicole was traveling as a true vagabond- sleeping in basements, houses and couch-surfing alone across North America. She currently has settled in Minneapolis, MN and she is working on her second release, co-producing with Chris Heidman (producer of Howler‘s America Give Up). Evolved represents a departure from her first album: it is the first single on her second release which is due out this fall. Evolved is one of many catchy pop songs on the new record that showcase the sonic feeling of what came from so much time alone recording in the woods and exploring the American and Canadian landscape from the driver’s seat. What else? Well begun is half done.

- Oh, Dirty Projectors made a movie!
- What..?!
- They’re a band, mom.
Well, yes: David Longstreth can’t be quite.
It must be a curse, or something like that, but Dirty Projectors‘ frontman simply isn’t able to sit in peace, listening to music, reading a book, smoking an havana: he has to do something. That’s why Dirty Projectors‘ impressive brand new album Swing Lo Magellan wasn’t enough. That’s why we are here, now, speaking about his crazy movie: Hi Custodian is an impressionistic-looking film that stars Longstreth and his band of fellow musicians/harmonizers in such roles as a yōkai (a shapeshifting Japanese ghost), a truck driver and a newborn (same person plays both), you know, funky people like that.
PARENTAL ADVISORY
this short movie is baby-safe: but only if the babies are completely stoned under LSD.

Together with the release of the new video The Sun, comes Big Charlie‘s latest single from Too Little Too Late: it features three great remixes of one of our favorite tracks of this album, by Sun Glitters, Flowers of Razorwire and Windefalk (the winner of the online contest promoted by the band a couple of months ago). Only for RS readers also Spineless Laugh comes to join the party with his Numbers version of the song that you can find here below. The EP is downoladable for free @ rock.it.

A mysterious SBTRKT‘s remix hit the ground during these days: Hold On comes from heretofore unheard of artist Sisi BakBak. And here’s the strange thing: how can exist an artist that no ones ever heard of, in the internet age? Something smells fishy here and actually it seems to smell like Radiohead! In fact everyone has decided that Thom Yorke is behind this (very good) remix, and it definitely has his spasmodic lilt to it. So check out this super secret one (and its robotic-looped video, directed by Sam Pilling) and let’s hope it’s really him or we’ll all look foolish.

Towards the end of Mogwai‘s touring year in 2011 the band played in Bangkok for the first time. So they seized the opportunity to set up a video contest amongst local artists and designers. The links below are winners of that competition set by the promoters of the show to come up with a video for one of Mogwai‘s songs. The level of the entris was incredibly high and the three selected ones are the expression of three different visual styles, each one perfectly fitting the atmosphere of the chosen song.
1. Mogwai – Letters to the Metro, directed by Kraisit Bhokasawat
2. Mogwai – Letters to the Metro, directed by Abhichon Rattanabhayon
3. Mogwai – Rano Pano, directed by Taiki Sakpisit

Not so much before ending their tour promoting their first full-length A Bunch of Love Songs and Zombies Lava Lava Love release a bunch of remixes of a bunch of songs taken from the album. Remixes features four re-works and experiments, filling their indie-pop tracks with drum-machines and synths, by Tarick1 (Andrea Calcagno of Numero6), Jacopo Gobber, The Darth Faders (Matteo Gosi and Filippo Mannello of Beaucoup Fish) and Nata Ieri (a.k.a. Natasha Romano of Qali). Remixes is dowloadable in digital format on the band’s Bandcamp page according to the name-your-own-price method: that means you can get it for free, but you’re highly recommended to pay something (it’s up to you, of course), because all the profits from the selling of this EP will be donate to ABEO (Associazione Bambino Emopatico Oncologico), an association supporting children suffering from oncological diseases, based in Verona (Italy).
