The English duo autoKratz are known for playing a snotty, guitar-enhanced style of electro (call it nu rave). Until 2009 they were mainstays of Kitsunè‚ the Parisian label that helped popularize groups like Klaxons and Simian Mobile Disco. This was the platform for both of their previous full-lengths, Animal, and the mini-album Down and Out in Paris and London: on the contrary, Self Help for Beginners is coming out on their new label, Bad Life (a !K7 sub-label). In addition to the core duo the record features appearances from Andrew Innes of Primal Scream and Peter Hook, formerly of Joy Division and New Order.
